Terms of Service
Effective July 26, 2026
These terms govern your use of StreamFirefly ("we", "us") — the website at streamfirefly.com, the StreamFirefly desktop application, our browser extension, and our Twitch Extension. By creating an account, connecting a platform, or redeeming an item, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What StreamFirefly is
StreamFirefly lets a streamer build a shop of on-stream effects — sounds, videos, text-to-speech, overlay visuals, OBS and smart-light actions — that viewers trigger using loyalty points, channel point rewards, or Bits. Streamers can also configure alerts that fire the same effects automatically on stream events, and tools such as song requests and chat games.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to hold an account on whichever platform you sign in with, to use StreamFirefly. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your platform sign-ins secure. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
Loyalty points and Bits
- Loyalty points have no monetary value. They are a channel-specific engagement score issued and controlled by each streamer, not currency, credit, or property. They cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between channels, or redeemed for anything outside that streamer's shop.
- A streamer may adjust, reset, or remove balances in their own channel at any time, and may change or remove any item in their shop.
- Points spent on a redemption are not refundable by us, except where our system fails to deliver the effect — in which case the deduction is reversed automatically.
- Where Bits are used, the Bits transaction is handled entirely by Twitch under Twitch's own terms. We receive confirmation of the transaction; we do not process it, and we cannot reverse it.
Your content
You keep ownership of the audio, images, and video you upload. By uploading, you grant us a licence to store, process, and transmit that content solely to operate the service — for example, to play it on your overlay. If you publish an asset to the community library, you additionally grant other StreamFirefly users a licence to use it within StreamFirefly.
You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload. Do not upload content that:
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- is sexually explicit, depicts or sexualises minors, or is otherwise illegal;
- harasses, threatens, defames, or incites violence against any person or group;
- contains malware, or is designed to disrupt or damage a viewer's system.
We may remove any content and suspend any account for violating these rules, with or without notice. To report content, email us at the address below.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other users' data, or any overlay, Bridge, or API endpoint that is not yours;
- automate, script, or otherwise manipulate loyalty point earning or redemption;
- use the service to violate the terms of Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Spotify, or any other connected platform;
- resell or rebrand the service, or circumvent plan limits or rate limits.
Third-party platforms
StreamFirefly connects to services we do not control. Your use of each remains subject to that platform's own terms, and a platform can change or withdraw access at any time, which may break a feature without notice.
YouTube. StreamFirefly uses YouTube API Services. By using the YouTube features of StreamFirefly, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can revoke StreamFirefly's access to your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Desktop application
The StreamFirefly desktop app connects to software running on your own machine — OBS, Philips Hue, Voicemod, Streamer.bot — to perform the actions you configure. It acts only on effects you have set up, and it updates itself to stay compatible. You are responsible for what you configure it to do on your own system.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and live effect delivery depends on third-party infrastructure and your own network and software.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost viewers, or lost loyalty point balances. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or creates legal risk for us or another user. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — content licences already granted to others, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — do survive.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in that province, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of British Columbia, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction.
